Here is beta 2 build ready for testing. This one uses a newer kernel to allow for ext4 support. It still has the stock kernel if you choose to have a more stable kernel.

I have began to build Beta 2. I think you will be pleased with this one as it will have support for EXT4 read and write. I have added a newer kernel to the Beta and have tested the ext4 support and it mounts properly and you can read and write to the disk. You will still have the option to drop back to the stock kernel if it does not suit your needs or prefer a stable kernel. This will help those who have been having problems with ext4 support in the previous beta. If you want any app included or have some art you would like to add then now is the time.

I have set a deadline for the site logo creation. You have until 08-28-09 to submit your Logo design.
After the 28th I will create a post to vote on all submissions. The one that gets the most votes will be the one used for Site Banner, usplash, grub splash, and wallpaper for the final release. I look forward to seeing what is created. Have fun and enjoy.

After a lot of headaches and chasing my tale I am finally finished with the first beta ready for testing. This is a Live DVD with an installer. The installer uses gparted for its partitioner. Gparted will spit out an error three separate times during the format process. Do not concern yourself with it and just press enter. It has no affect on the format or install process. Just not sure yet what is causing it. Make sure to setup a swap partition as the installer will look for one and if it cannot find one it will fail to install. After the drive is formatted and you have a swap and a ext2 or ext3 partition then go ahead and close out gparted. The installer will resume. Next select your swap partition and select next. Then select the main partition for the system. Then select the partition for home. Next you will fill out root pass and user name and pass. Then you will select Country/Region and time zone. Make sure everything is correct and continue to install the system.

I am very close to releasing the first Beta build of PhatDebian. I have one issue I am trying to overcome and once I do I will be posting with a download link in the forum. I will also create a post here to let everyone know that it is ready. Please stay tuned.

A new logo is in the works for the project. It will be a spin off of the Debian logo. I will also be working on a favicon for the site.
